To become a member of our Club, you must be a current member of NRA, apply for membership, pass the background check, and complete the required safety course. If you wish to use the 100 yd. rifle tube, you must also pass the tube qualification.

Download Club Bylaws (PDF)

Download Club Policies (PDF)

Download Instructions for Operating Club Facilities (PDF)

What's the process?

The application is downloaded and printed using one of the links above. It is filled out completely and submitted together with payment for fees at any regularly scheduled Board meeting (there's one every month, see our Calendar for the next one). The application will be processed and the background check performed. If all is well, you will be invited to join us at the next General Member Meeting for consideration. If you're unable to attend that meeting, you may attend the following month's meeting. At the General Meeting, the membership will meet you and consider your application and a vote will be taken; a 2/3 yes vote is required for acceptance. If for some reason your application membership is denied, all funds less the non-refundable application fee will be returned as quickly as possible. Once accepted, you must complete the Safety and Proficiency class, which takes about 1 to 1 1/2 hours and is given by our Safety Officers. Thereafter you will receive your key and access card and are welcome to use the Club's facilities. If you wish to use the 100 yd. rifle tube, you must also complete the Tube Qualification process; details will be given you on your induction day.

What are CCGC fees?

  • Associate Member: (significant other of a Regular member in good standing residing at the same address) $62 non-refundable application fee, and $38 membership dues, prorated based on month of joining.
  • Junior Family Member: $15.00 membership dues (not pro-rated) for those under 18 years old who are children of regular members in good standing.

  • Military: $75 membership dues while active Military status pertains.

Ok, exactly what do I do?

Here's what to do:

1. Download and print the application form; see the links at the top of this page. You can right-click on one of the links and select "Save Target As" to save the file to your local hard drive. You can also just click it and it should open up on your computer in the appropriate application, where you can print it.

2. Completely fill out the application. There are a number of parts to it, including the required Release and Waiver and the Letter of Affirmation stating that you've read the Club Bylaws and Policies booklet and agree to abide by them.

3. Submit the completed application and a check covering all fees at a Board of Directors meeting (see below or use our Calendar). The application includes a table to help you figure out what your fees are based on the month of your application submission. You must also bring your driver's license so it can be copied for Club records.

4. The background check will be completed by an independent private investigative firm and you will be advised of the results. If all is well you will be invited to join us at the next General Members Meeting.

5. Attend the next General Members Meeting , where the membership will meet you and vote on your application.

You will also need to bring your driver's license and pay the fees at this time. If you subsequently do not join the club, your fees, less any non-refundable application fee, will be refunded. Board meetings are held at 7:00 PM on (the location is on the membership application):

Forthcoming Board Meetings:

Dec 18, 2009
Jan 29, 2010
Feb 26, 2010
Mar 26, 2010

What's the background check about?

All new prospective members are required to go through a background check. This is performed by a private investigative service and is a separate entity from the Club. The background check is performed to verify that applicants are legally able to purchase and possess a firearm (juniors excepted due to age). Once the background check is completed the prospective member will be notified.

What happens at the General Meeting when my application is reviewed?
At the General Members Meeting, your application will be presented to the membership. The application will be read aloud, and you will be asked to talk a bit about yourself, your firearms experience and so on. After all applications are read, the prospective members leave the room so that the members attending can discuss and vote on prospective applicants.

How does renewal work?

(NOTE TO CURRENT MEMBERS - As of 2009, the timing of our renewal process has changed. Please read this!)

Renewal forms will be mailed out in September and must be returned by December 31st. Renewal memberships are for the entire calendar year. If for some reason you do not receive a renewal form, you must contact a CCGC staff member to ensure that your renewal is returned before the December 31 deadline.

Thank you!
- The Board of Directors of Cherry Creek Gun Club and the Membership staff
